Jalen Hurts is officially a part of Oklahoma’s football program.

The former star Alabama quarterback transferred into the Sooners’ program earlier this month and head coach Lincoln Riley announced the transfer this weekend.

“I’ve gotten to know him and I’m really impressed by the way that he carries himself, the way that he works. There’s not going to be much happening to this kid that he hasn’t been through already,” Riley said.

“You appreciate that side of it, but he’s got to come do it here. He’s not going to immediately snap in because he had success at another school. He realizes that. He’s excited, he’s hungry to come work. We’re excited to get him going with our guys.”

Hurts, who announced his transfer to Oklahoma in a piece for The Players’ Tribune, has officially updated his Twitter profile.

“Boomer.”

Hurts, who chose Oklahoma over Maryland and Miami, is expected to start at quarterback for Oklahoma in 2019. The quarterback has just one season of eligibility left.

Oklahoma, which lost in the College Football Playoff semifinals this past season, is expected to contend for a playoff spot again next season.

The Sooners should start the year ranked inside the top 10.
