4-Star WR Tyrell Shavers Committed To Alabama During Visit

Update: Shavers made the official announcement on Twitter moments ago.

Earlier: Four-star wide receiver Tyrell Shavers left Alabama today after an unofficial visit to Tuscaloosa, but he made a big decision before departing. As first reported by 247Sports, Shavers committed to Nick Saban and the Crimson Tide. 247's Ryan Bartow has more on the 6-foot-6 Texas native's big choice.

"I enjoyed myself," Shavers said. "Alabama is the National Champs. My recruitment is over. I'm playing for the best."Shavers informed Alabama coach Nick Saban and Crimson Tide wide receivers coach Billy Napier of his intentions."Coach Saban had a big smile on his face," Shavers said. "They are getting a guy with size that can move."

Based on the top 10 that Shavers put together last month, Alabama beat out Auburn, Florida State, LSU, Miami, Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Oregon, Texas, and Texas Tech.Shavers is ranked as one of the 25 best players in Texas.
That is a nice big target for the young quarterbacks that will be battling it out to start for Alabama in the coming seasons.
