Nick Saban has decided on a starting quarterback--for one game, anyway.
According to a report by CBS Sports' Jeremy Fowler, redshirt senior Blake Sims will be behind center when the Crimson Tide take the field for the first time Saturday against West Virginia. The competition for the starting job is still ongoing, though, as Florida State transfer Jacob Coker will play, too.
From Fowler's report:
This is considered an open audition and both quarterbacks will have their chances to strengthen their case in the Georgia Dome.
Sims has thrown for 244 yards and two touchdowns during his career at Alabama. Coker was a highly-touted recruit who threw for 250 yards in backup duty last season with the Seminoles.
Alabama and West Virginia are set to kickoff at 3:30 p.m. E.T. Saturday. The game will be broadcast on ABC.
