Scout Names Alabama Commit Najee Harris No. 1 Recruit In Class Of 2017

In the class of 2016, all four major recruiting websites named Michigan-bound defensive tackle Rashan Gary their No. 1 ranked recruit. Things are a bit more interesting in the class of 2017. 247Sports and ESPN have Dylan Moses atop their rankings, while Scouthas named running back Najee Harris, an Alabama commit, its top player.

Here's more on Harris, from Scout.

He was recently named State Player of the Year by, the first time the honor went to a non-senior since 1986. He rushed for 2,744 yards and scored 39 touchdowns, plus had 33 two-point conversions runs (stats courtesey of CalHiSports).

When you look at his size and running style, you can see a lot of Los Angeles Rams running back Todd Gurley in his game. He has grown significantly in the last year and now looks closer to 6-2, 215 pounds, while adding speed and wiggle.

That is high praise.

Alabama already has Harris in the fold, assuming he doesn't decommit, and the aforementioned Moses named Alabama his leader. The Crimson Tide could be putting together a class for the ages.
