As always, the college football world was entertained during the entire regular season. While there were plenty of games worth noting, there were five that absolutely dominated TV ratings.
Out of all the games that took place this season, the Alabama-LSU showdown generated the best ratings. Not only were fans interested in watching the Crimson Tide be put the test, there were also people that wanted to watch Joe Burrow and Tua Tagovailoa.
CBS had 16.64 million viewers tuning in for that matchup.
Three of the top games from this year included at least one SEC team, but the second most-watched game of the season was the finale between Ohio State and Michigan.
FOX sports had 12.42 million viewers for the annual Big Ten showdown.
The Iron Bowl finished with the third-best ratings this college football season. Even though Tagovailoa wasn’t available for Alabama, the offense found itself in a shootout with Auburn.
Here is the rest of the top five:

Every game from this list was relatively close for the exception of Ohio State-Michigan. Ryan Day led his team to a 29-point victory over its biggest rival.
If these ratings are any indication of what is to come during the College Football Playoff, ESPN could be in line for strong viewership fairly soon.
