Tim Brando Claims Oregon, Utah Would Beat Alabama Right Now
On Tuesday night, the second College Football Playoff rankings were revealed. After LSU's huge win over Alabama, the Tigers took over the No. 1 spot. Ohio State, fresh off of a dominant performance over Maryland, dropped to No. 2, while Clemson and Georgia rounded out the top four.
Alabama's loss dropped the Crimson Tide to No. 5, just outside of the playoff.
One college football analyst thinks the Tide should have been lower in the rankings. FOX Sports reporter Tim Brando suggested Utah and Oregon would beat Alabama on a neutral field - right now.
"Alabama privilege is always there...By the way, Utah or Oregon, on a neutral field, right now, would beat Alabama. Put that in your College Football Playoff pipe and smoke on it."
Brando suggested "Alabama privilege" led the committee to put the Tide above better teams. Here's what he said right after the playoff rankings came out.
"The CFB Playoff Committee has all their cronies on TV all day preparing everyone for Alabama privilege tonight," Brando wrote on Twitter. "There’s no doubt they’ll drop only 1 or 2 spots. Committee will claim eye test and forget their non Conference schedule. An embarrassment! I dropped em’ 5 spots."
It's a bold claim from Brando, especially after Alabama lost by just five points to the No. 1 team in the country.
