Alabama 5-Star QB Commit Tua Tagovailoa Closes Recruitment, Will Enroll Early

Tua Tagovailoa, Alabama's five-star quarterback commitment, is done with his recruitment, and will be enrolling this January.

Tagovailoa originally planned to use his five official visits. However, because of his early enrollment plans, he wants to use that time instead to spend with family and friends in his native Hawaii, before he heads to Tuscaloosa.

He spoke to SEC Country about his decision.

“We’re going to stay there for a couple of days, maybe even a week,” Tagovailoa told SEC Country. “From there, (my family) wanted to go on trips elsewhere. I didn’t want to do that because I want to enjoy the time I have here with my family and friends. After we go to Alabama, we’re going to come back here and spend as much time together as possible before they don’t see me for a while because of football.”

Tagovailoa and his family will take a long official visit to Tuscaloosa on December 8, and that will be it for his college football recruitment.

He is one of the top dual-threat quarterbacks in the country, winning the 7-on-7 MVP award at The Opening in July. He committed to Alabama back in May, and is one of two quarterbacks in the class, along with Mac Jones.

Tua Tagovailoa is the nation's No. 1 dual-threat quarterback, and the top recruit in the state of Hawaii.

Here is Alabama's full class.

Alabama's 2017 class is currently ranked No. 1 in the country.
