Nick Saban and the Crimson Tide are working to replace strength coach Scott Cochran.
Cochran is one of the most well-known strength coaches in the country and has worked wonders with the Alabama football team. But now, he’s heading to Georgia to serve in an on-field coaching role. The new position was too much too pass down for Cochran.
This is certainly a loss for Alabama, but Saban has a track-record of making incredible replacement hires. So who are the Crimson Tide targeting in the strength coach search? One big name has emerged as a major target.
According to the latest rumors, Saban is expected to target Oregon strength coach Aaron Feld. Feld has been an integral piece for the Ducks under head coach Mario Cristobal. He also has major ties to Alabama.

This could be a perfect fit. Feld spent one year as a volunteer strength coach for the Crimson Tide in 2013. He then made his way to North Alabama and then Georgia before taking over the strength program for the Ducks.
Given his past experience both playing and coaching in SEC country, Feld would likely accept an offer from Alabama. Now, it’s just a question of whether or not Saban extends said offer.
If contact is made, Feld could be on his way to Tuscaloosa very soon.
