The Razorbacks were surprisingly feisty in their first year under head coach Sam Pittman a year ago. The 3-7 record doesn’t jump off the page but it came against an all-SEC schedule, and featured big wins over Mississippi State, Ole Miss, and Tennessee.
As they prep for the 2021 season, Yurachek was there in person to check out the team. One one play, running back Josh Oglesby bounced it outside, and was taken down out of bounds by an Arkansas defender. As he bounced off the turf, his leg flew up and caught Yurachek in the face with his cleats.
This afternoon, the AD put out a tweet showing his cut-up face. It certainly looks pretty painful.
Prior to this morning’s @RazorbackFB scrimmage @CoachSamPittman talked about toughness. AD leading by example after taking a cleat to the face on the sidelines. #OneRazorback pic.twitter.com/eWKRSrXnuc

Hours later, Arkansas put out video of the play from practice. Hunter Yurachek posted it himself, and even included a pretty clear reference to the Bobby Petrino motorcycle accident scandal.

College football fans definitely made reference to Petrino’s famous neckbrace press conference when seeing the banged-up Arkansas administrator. Still, it’s pretty shocking to see him crack a joke about it, considering it basically brought upon the downturn for the program.
Petrino was 34-17 at Arkansas, and went 10-3 (6-2), 11-2 (6-2) in 2010 and 2011 respectively, his final two years with the Hogs. He was fired after the motorcycle crash revealed an affair that he was having with a staffer.
The Razorbacks are 40-69 since, and are on their fourth full-time head coach in the last decade.
