On Sunday night, Arkansas picked up a commitment from a player at one of the top high school programs in the country. Maleek Barkley, a wide receiver at Las Vegas' Bishop Gorman High School, announced his decision via Twitter.
Here is Barkley's 247Sportsrecruiting profile.
Barkley heads to Bishop Gorman after spending 2015 at Lake Travis High School in Texas, where he had some pretty impressive numbers as a receiver and running back.
The versatile Barkley earned all-district honors as a kick returner in 2015, when he also ranked second on the team in receptions (55) and third in rushing yards (617). Barkley saw increased time in the backfield during Lake Travis’ postseason run to the Class 6A, Division II championship game, and he gained 197 yards and scored three touchdowns on only 11 carries in a third-round playoff game against Waco Midway.
He is the fourth member of Arkansas' 2017 class.
