Arkansas Hires Atlanta Falcons' Chad Walker As Outside Linebackers Coach

Chad Walker, an LSU alumnus and assistant coach for the NFC Champion Atlanta Falcons this year, is returning to the SEC to coach outside linebackers at Arkansas.

The school announced the hire this afternoon, which completes Bret Bielema's staff for the 2017 season.

Arkansas head coach Bret Bielema has turned to the NFL for the second time this week to complete his coaching staff, naming Atlanta Falcons defensive assistant/defensive backs coach Chad Walker the program’s outside linebackers coach Friday evening.


“Chad’s name was brought to my attention by several different people on the pro and collegiate level that have worked with him installing a 3-4 defense,” Bielema said. “After meeting him and going through the interview process, I’m really excited to get him on the field working with our guys and helping us transform our defense. I think he’ll hit the ground running in recruiting and I’m excited to have him join our family.”

After serving as a student and graduate assistant at his alma mater LSU, and has also served on staff at Louisiana-Monroe, Oklahoma, and the Miami Dolphins. He coached defensive backs with the Falcons this past season.
