Sunday Brunch With Bret Bielema: Arkansas Coach Cooks Eggs For Wife

On the first (and hopefully not last) edition of 'Sunday Brunch with Bret Bielema,' the Arkansas head coach will teach us how to cook one of his wife's favorites - Slow Savory Eggs.

What you'll need:

- 2 tablespoons of olive oil

- half cup of scallions

- handful of basil, chopped

- 9 or 10 slices of bacon

- 8 eggs

- sea salt and cracked black pepper to taste

First, you'll want to slowly heat the olive oil with scallions and basil. You know, build the aroma, get the flavor going. When your first college football practice is right around the corner, you probably want to take advantage and make your wife happy. Bielema's a smart man.

Next, you'll want to lay out a sheet tray full of bacon. Crisp it in the oven until Arkansas fans are screaming Woooo Pig Sooie!

After 15 minutes you'll want to carefully crack the eggs on top of the slowly cooked scallions and basil, add sea salt and freshly cracked black pepper, dial back the heat to the lowest setting possible and let go for an hour.

Lastly, serve it up and enjoy. We don't know how it turned out, since Bielema didn't post a picture of the final product, but it sure looked like he was onto something.

Stay tuned for the next edition of 'Sunday Brunch with Bret Bielema.'
