Auburn freshman defensive back Tim Irvin, a former four-star recruit, announced Tuesday on Twitter that he'll be transferring from the university ahead of the 2016 season. Irvin, who recorded 18 tackles in his rookie campaign, thanked the team's coaches and fans in the note. He said it will be "better" for him to pursue his career somewhere else.
Irvin chose the Tigers over Miami, Florida, Texas, Alabama and a number of other top schools. He gave no reasoning on his decision.
Irvin hails from Miami, Florida and stands at 5-foot-9, 194 pounds. We'll keep you updated on his whereabouts.
