On Saturday, Auburn freshman defensive end Byron Cowart, the No. 1 player in the 2015 ESPN 300, sent out a pair of frustrated tweets. Before they were quickly deleted, Cowart complained about his treatment, and said that he believes his status as a top prospect is being held against him. Head coach Gus Malzahn was asked about Cowart's statements today, and doesn't seem overly concerned about his talented pass rusher.

Cowart's young tenure at Auburn hasn't been without drama. Back on National Signing Day, there was a delay in Cowart sending in his letter of intent after his morning pledge to the Tigers. However, he is far from the only freshman to struggle a bit at the start of his college career. If Malzahn isn't concerned, Auburn fans probably shouldn't be at this point.
