Auburn vs. Louisiana Tech – Game Time, TV Schedule, Line, Preview, Predictions

Seven of Auburn's nine remaining games will be against opponents who are currently ranked in both major college football polls. This week, however, the Tigers get a bit of a breather as they take on Louisiana Tech at home. Auburn sits at 3-0 and most recently knocked off Kansas State on the road.

Louisiana Tech is 2-2, and actually played another national title contender earlier this season - Oklahoma. The Bulldogs struggled mightily in that contest, falling to the Sooners 48-16. They'd do well do not suffer the same fate this Saturday.

Betting Line: Auburn -32.5 via 5Dimes

Prediction: Many believe that Auburn was fortunate to escape its contest against Kansas State with a victory. The Tigers' running game, which is normally an issue for opponents to handle, was shut down by the Wildcats. Auburn gained 128 yards on 45 carries - an average of 2.8 yards per rush. The question is whether it was KSU's scheme or its personnel that made things so difficult. Perhaps it was a combination.

That being said, it's hard to see Louisiana Tech, with the 94th-ranked defense in the country, putting up the same kind of fight. The Bulldogs struggled to contain Oklahoma both on the ground and through the air. They've improved since, but it's been against weaker competition. You can assume Auburn is going to win this game.

As for the 32.5 point spread, it's hard to know if or when Auburn will take its foot off of the gas. We'll take the Tigers to cover, but don't be surprised if there are a bunch of backups playing in the fourth quarter.
