Two of the bigger names in the SEC West - Alabama and LSU - are on a bye this week. So the Auburn-Ole Miss game could be a chance for both teams to really shine.

The Tigers are all but out of the SEC West title race following their loss to LSU last week. But with huge games against Georgia and Alabama still on the schedule, they have a sliver of hope. It will certainly help Gus Malzahn and Auburn that the team doesn't have to leave home for the final four weeks of the season.

Ole Miss, meanwhile, are winless on the road this year and losers of four of their last five games. Beating Auburn at Jordan-Hare Stadium may be too tough a task for the 3-5 Rebels.

It should come as little surprise that Auburn is favored by 19.5 points this weekend.

Ahead of the game, ESPN analyst Bill Connelly has posted his SP+ model's projection for Auburn-Ole Miss.

On Wednesday, it predicted that Auburn would win the game 35-14.

Auburn has historically dominated Ole Miss under head coach Gus Malzahn. In six meetings between the two sides, Malzahn's Tigers have come out on top five times.

In Auburn, the Rebels have only beaten them three times in over 50 years.
