Former Auburn Star Cam Newton Makes ESPN's List Of The 100 Most-Famous Athletes In The World

ESPN has come up with a formula to rank the 100 most-famous athletes in the world in 2016.

The formula takes into account Forbes' list of the 100 highest-paid athletes, social media followings (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter) and, among other things, Google searches.

A former Auburn star has made the list.

Tigers' Heisman Trophy winner Cam Newton, now an NFL MVP quarterback for the Carolina Panthers, checks in at No. 32.

From ESPN:

Salary/winnings: $13M
Endorsements: $11M

The NFL's reigning MVP and a quarterback whose freakish athletic ability is complemented by an impressive command of the mental part of playing the position. Newton is a polarizing figure -- some folks love his dabbing; others say it's preening. Newton has won everywhere he has been.
