Georgia coach Mark Richt reportedly kicked Matthews off the team earlier this month due to a classroom incident. Matthews played in eight games and compiled 36 tackles with an interception for the Bulldogs last year. He's already familiar to Auburn fans, as Matthews was one of the Georgia defensive backs who tipped the game-winning touchdown pass into the arms of Tigers wide receiver Ricardo Louis when the two teams met last season.
