Auburn head coach Gus Malzahn is known for his crazy, innovative and flashy offense. The Tigers have had some of the best offensive attacks in all of college football under his rein.

But Auburn's offense has received its fair share of criticism after a 23-20 loss to LSU last Saturday. The Tigers' defense did more than enough to shut down Joe Burrow, holding LSU to just 23 points. But Bo Nix failed to produce when called upon.

Nix completed just 15-of-35 passes for 157 yards and one touchdown, but also threw a costly interception against LSU.

Since the loss, Malzahn is being criticized for his use of Nix and play-calls during the game. A former NFL general manager is the latest to chime in on Auburn's offense.

“My man Gus Bus, that’s the worst offense I’ve ever seen,” Michael Lombardi said on his podcast, via Saturday Down South. “He had no idea how to throw a football. Zero. Zero. All he does is scream at the players, he has no idea how to throw the football. He has no passing game ... He’ll blame it on a rookie quarterback – no, he’s got a bad, bad offensive scheme. It’s horrible.”

Lombardi certainly didn't hesitate to call out the Auburn head coach. The former NFL GM also noted the Tigers may have the best team in the country in terms of talent due to their defense, but the lack of a good offense holds them down. With the current offensive scheme, Lombardi feels Auburn is doomed for the time being.

Will Malzahn make some changes to the scheme to help Nix in the passing game?
