Ole Miss vs. Auburn preview:
These two SEC West programs have moved in vastly different directions in recent weeks. Ole Miss entered the year with perhaps the best quarterback in the league, and Chad Kelly has impressed. The Rebels fell early to Florida State and were by far the closest to knocking off Alabama that any team has been this year. A blow-out win over Georgia looks nice, but so far, it is the only Power Five win that Georgia has this year. The Rebels have gone on the road and lost to Arkansas and LSU in the last two weeks.
Auburn was a mess offensively to begin the year, but has found success with a run-dominant offense that hearkens back to some of Gus Malzahn's most successful Tiger teams. Kamryn Pettway and Kerryon Johnson have combined for 1,235 rushing yards and 12 touchdowns this season.
Ole Miss won last year's match-up with the Tigers 27-19, but Auburn has dominated the all-time series, and has a 29-11 lead.
Ole Miss vs. Auburn prediction:
Auburn's recent resurgence is impressive, and last weekend's 56-3 win over Arkansas, a team that had just defeated Ole Miss at home, signals that the Tigers will be a factor going forward this season. It is hard to think that Ole Miss is as bad as a 3-4 record would indicate, and we think the Rebels keep this one close, but Auburn pulls out the win.
