Report: Auburn Defensive Coordinator Will Muschamp Getting Looks From South Carolina

If the coaching carousel spins correctly, former Florida head coach Will Muschamp could be back at the helm of an SEC East program after just one year in the assistant ranks. According to FOX Sports' Bruce Feldman, Muschamp is getting looks from the South Carolina Gamecocks.

South Carolina had previously targeted both Tom Herman and Kirby Smart, though it appears that Herman will stay at Houston and Smart may take the job at Georgia. Muschamp finished with a 28-21 record at Florida, and was fired after going 4-8 and 6-5 in his final two years. There's a chance that the year off has allowed him to reflect on what did not work in Gainesville, but this is probably not the slam-dunk hire the Gamecocks thought they were getting when they became one of the first openings.
