Chad Morris was let go as the head coach of Arkansas during this season, but his next job might keep him in the SEC West. Auburn is reportedly targeting Morris as its next offensive coordinator.
Earlier today, Auburn offensive coordinator Kenny Dillingham accepted the same position on Mike Norvell’s staff at Florida State. Dillingham confirmed the move via his Twitter account.
According to 247Sports’ Brandon Marcello, Morris is the main target to replace Dillingham. Auburn head coach Gus Malzahn is looking to get the hire done quickly, apparently as soon as this week.

Morris went 4-18 in one-plus seasons at Arkansas after compiling a 14-22 record in three years at SMU. While his head coaching resume leaves something to be desired, his work as an offensive coordinator is stellar.
From 2011-14, Morris ran the offense at Clemson, jump-starting the Tiger attack by installing an up-tempo, spread-based system. Assuming Auburn bring him into the fold, Morris could work wonders for young quarterback Bo Nix.
This season, Auburn had one of the best defenses in the country but struggled offensively at times. Still, the Tigers finished the regular season with a 9-3 record and a win over Alabama.
They will face Minnesota in the Outback Bowl on New Year’s Day.
