Auburn running back Kerryon Johnson finished ninth in the Heisman Trophy voting.

If it was up to Tim Tebow, the SEC's leading rusher would have finished higher.

Tebow had said before the Iron Bowl that he had Johnson No. 2 on his Heisman ballot. Today, he said Johnson should have cracked the top five.

Here's what Tebow said to AL.com about Johnson, who rushed for 1,320 yards and scored 20 total touchdowns.

"He should have been higher in the Heisman voting," Tebow told AL.com on Sunday. "I think he was one of the most valuable players in the SEC, if not the most valuable player. I thought that he showed a lot of versatility, and I think a big thing for him is being able to stay healthy.

"Going forward, I think that's going to be a key for him, because when he is healthy, he is dynamic and he is really good."

Johnson will have to settle for trying to cap off his junior year with a win over UCF in the Peach Bowl tomorrow.
