Summer is commitment season for college prospects. Classes start to fill up and players feel the need to secure themselves a spot.

Sometimes, players can even make two commitments in the summertime. Such is the case with Chesapeake (Va.) Oscar Smith four-star athlete Cam'ron Kelly.

Kelly originally committed to Virginia Tech in early June. That pledge lasted a little more than a month, and he reopened his recruitment on July 21.

One week later, Kelly visited Auburn. Today, Kelly announced a verbal commitment to the Tigers.

He is the 16th commitment in Auburn's 2019 class.

Incredibly, Auburn's current recruiting class only ranks fifth in the SEC, but is still good enough to be No. 8 nationally. That's how well the conference is recruiting right now.

You can see 247Sports' full composite team recruiting rankings here.

Kelly is the No. 4 player in the state of Virginia and the 13th-rated athlete in the 2019 class, according to 247Sports' Composite Rankings.
