Video: Cam Newton's Cowardly Decision Might Have Cost The Panthers Super Bowl 50

Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton was undoubtedly the NFL's best player this season. But one play during Super Bowl 50 - which he'd likely take back - will likely haunt him for a long, long time.

Carolina, trailing 16-10 late in the fourth quarter, was facing a 3rd-and-9 from its own 25-yard-line. Newton, after dropping back to pass, was sacked by Denver's Von Miller, fumbling the ball in the process. Newton had the opportunity to jump on top of the ball and keep possession, but for some reason, he shied away from the opportunity. He's getting killed for it on social media.

Denver scored on the ensuing possession, taking a two-score lead. The Broncos won the game, 24-10.

Would the outcome have been different if Newton had jumped on the ball? We'll never know. But expect this to get a lot of play in the coming days.
