Auburn baseball earned an 8-4 road win over Jacksonville State on Tuesday night thanks to some incredible glove work by centerfield Kason Howell.

Howell went 0-for-5 with two strikeouts at the plate against the Gamecocks, but his home run robbery in the bottom of the third inning kept the game scoreless and created a viral highlight.

With a man on second base and one out, JSU centerfield TJ Reeves blasted an offering from Auburn starter Mason Barnett into deep left center. It looked like it was headed for the trees beyond the outfield fence, but Howell had other ideas.

The senior from Argyle, Texas made a leaping catch above the wall to preserve the shutout for the time being.

Auburn would go on to score first in the top of the fourth inning, and after Jacksonville State tied things up in their half of the frame, the Tigers broke the game open with a five-run fifth.

Auburn moved to 30-12 on the season with the win. The Tigers are currently ranked 19th in the country and are in second place behind Arkansas in the SEC West.
