Over the weekend, the Auburn Tigers suffered their first loss of the season. The Swamp proved to be too tough for the Tigers as the Florida Gators took down their SEC rival by a final score of 24-13.
Unfortunately for the Tigers, that was just the beginning of the bad news.
Head coach Gus Malzahn revealed star running back JaTarvious “Boobee” whitlow suffered a significant ankle injury.
Malzahn revealed Whitlow underwent surgery on the ankle and is expected to miss at least four weeks.
Huge news: Auburn HC Gus Malzahn said RB Boobee Whitlow suffered an injury late against Florida and underwent surgery. He will miss 4-6 weeks.

Whitlow is the team’s leading rusher and was a lone bright spot during the offense’s struggle on Saturday afternoon.
The star running back racked up 544 yards and seven touchdowns on the ground in the first six games of the season. His only reception on the season went for 25 yards.
It’s a major blow to the Tigers, who start a true freshman quarterback in Bo Nix. Whitlow helped take some of the heat off of Nix, but that will change after his ankle injury.
Backup running backs Kam Martin and Shaun Shivers will have to carry the load for at least a month.
Auburn has a bye week this weekend, but then travels to Arkansas and LSU in back-to-back weeks.
