Florida Blown Out By Missouri In First Game Since Jim McElwain's Firing

Florida is a mess right now.

This past Sunday, a day after Florida was waxed by Georgia in their annual rivalry game, the Gators fired head coach Jim McElwain. It doesn't look like the product has improved much under interim coach Randy Shannon, however.

Saturday, Florida struggled mightily again, falling 45-16 to a Missouri team that had yet to win an SEC game. Malik Zaire got the start for the Gators, but he finished just 13-of-19 for 158 yards with an interception. Florida didn't move the ball effectively until the game was in doubt late in the fourth quarter.

The Tigers, meanwhile, racked up over 450 yards of offense.

The Gators are now 3-5 on the season with games against South Carolina, UAB and Florida State left on the schedule. They'll need to win all three to finish the year bowl eligible.
