Florida's Mark Thompson Will Not Travel With The Team To Play Georgia

Florida RB Mark Thompson will not play Saturday against Georgia due to "some choices and decisions he's made."

The Florida Gators Twitter account announced today in a vaguely worded tweet that redshirt junior running back Mark Thompson will not be traveling with the team to Jacksonville to take on Georgia this Saturday.

No specific reason was offered for why he's being held out, other than "some choices and decisions he's made."

Here's the tweet:

One can only speculate as to what exactly went down, but Thompson's absence in the short-term means Jordan Scarlett and Lamical Perine will definitely be seeing more time in the backfield against the Bulldogs.

Thompson has 262 yards rushing on 57 carries (4.6 YPC) and two touchdowns on the year.

The 5-1 Gators take on the 4-3 Bulldogs this Saturday at 3:30 p.m. E.T. and the game will be broadcast on CBS. Florida is an 8-point favorite.
