Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic and Capital One Orange Bowl Complete Presentation of New Year’s Six
…The Capital One Orange Bowl between No. 9 Florida and No. 24 Virginia (8 p.m.) on Monday, Dec. 30, will precede the New Year’s Day bowls and follow the CFP Semifinals.
…with Steve Levy, Brian Griese, Todd McShay and Molly McGrath on the Gators-Cavaliers.
It will be only the second-ever meeting between the Gators and the Cavaliers. The two sides last met in the 1959 regular season, with Florida easily routing Virginia, 55-10 in Gainesville.
Florida is coming off a 10-2 season that included a tough loss to Georgia that ultimately knocked them out of SEC title contention. But the Gators still boast one of the best defenses in college football, allowing only 14.4 points per game.
Virginia qualified for the ACC Championship Game on the last regular season game. They topped arch-rival Virginia Tech to reach the title game for the first time in years. But the Cavaliers were quickly swatted aside by mighty Clemson, who beat them 62-17.
The 2019 Orange Bowl will be played on December 30 and will air on ESPN.
