Florida's Coaches Are Taking Extreme Measures In The Recruiting Of 5-Star Byron Cowart, The Nation's No. 1 DE

The NCAA's recruiting dead period ended on Thursday, meaning college football coaches could meet with recruits and their parents in person, and host them on campus.

For the Florida football program, this meant re-engaging in the pursuit of five-star defensive end Byron Cowart. The pursuit started literally as soon as it legally could.

Florida coaches reportedly met with Cowart's mom at a Denny's at 12:01 a.m. They then met Cowart at his bus stop and followed him to school.

It sounds a little creepy, but this is what it takes to land a premier prospect.

Cowart, a 6-foot-4, 250-pound strong-side defensive end out of Armwood High (Seffner, Fla.), is ranked as the No. 3 player in the country by 247 Sports' Composite Rankings.
