Jim McElwain: Florida QB Luke Del Rio Is "Done" For The Season

Florida quarterback Luke Del Rio is out for the season.

Near the end of the first half versus Vanderbilt, Florida starting quarterback Luke Del Rio took a nasty hit from defender Dare Odeyingbo and his left shoulder— a shoulder he had surgery on this offseason—was driven into the ground.

He came out of the game and did not return, with sophomore Feleipe Franks taking over signal-calling duties.

The Gators ended up winning the game 38-24, but it came at the cost of their starting QB, who, according to head coach Jim McElwain, is done for the season and will have surgery.

Check it out:

It's terrible news for the Gators, but especially Del Rio. The junior just can't seem to stay healthy, and this will be his third shoulder surgery in the past year—and his second on the left shoulder.
