Florida Safety Marcus Maye Out For Season With Broken Arm
Marcus Maye will be out the remainder of the season after suffering a broken arm versus South Carolina.
Tough day for the Florida defense. Though the Gators got the win over the South Carolina Gamecocks, 20-7, it came with a cost. Florida safety Marcus Maye had to be carted off the field early in the game and returned to the sideline with his arm in a sling and in street clothes.
After the game, Florida head coach Jim McElwain confirmed the worst:
Not good news for a team that relies heavily on its defense, a unit that ranks fifth in the nation per ESPN.
The Florida native entered the contest as the Gators' third-leading tackler, with 50 total tackles on the year and one interception according to ESPN.
Maye, a senior, is the No. 4 free safety prospect in the 2017 NFL Draft.
