Report: Florida Is "Very Intrigued" By Ole Miss Coach Hugh Freeze

Florida football officially has a coaching vacancy. Will Muschamp's tenure as the Gators' coach ended on Saturday after the team's 24-19 loss to Florida State, and now the school needs to find his replacement.

Plenty of coaches have been rumored as potential targets for the vacancy, but according to Bruce Feldman of Fox Sports, the Gators may have singled out Ole Miss coach Hugh Freeze. Feldman reports that the school is "very intrigued" by the Rebels' coach, partly because he led his squad to wins over Alabama and Mississippi State this year.

It's important to remember that this doesn't necessarily mean that the Gators will aggressively pursue Freeze, but he would be an interesting target. Florida is rumored to want a coach who excels at coaching offense, and Freeze certainly fits that mold.

Freeze has gone 24-14 with an 11-13 mark in the SEC at Ole Miss ever since becoming the Rebels' coach in 2012. He was also the head coach at Arkansas State and Lambuth.
