This afternoon, the LSU-Florida game, scheduled for Saturday in Gainesville, was postponed due to Hurricane Matthew.
As we detailed earlier, there have been a number of possible dates suggested for a make-up game. Apparently, one of those dates has already been shot down by LSU.
According to ESPN's Brett McMurphy, the Tigers refused Florida's offer to play on Nov. 19. The Gators are scheduled to play Presbyterian that day but were apparently willing to cancel the game.
Per McMurphy, LSU said no. They are slated to host South Alabama that day.
One potential reason for LSU refusing? A Thanksgiving Day matchup with Texas A&M which they would only have four days to prepare for. Now, they only have four days to prepare for that anyway, but getting ready for the Aggies after playing South Alabama is a little different than doing it after playing Florida.
We're confident this game will be made up, just not sure when at this point.
