Report: One-Handed Sharpshooter Zach Hodskins Gets Walk-On Offer From Florida
We've written about a number of inspiring stories here at College Spun. This one might be the best of them all.
Zach Hodskins isn't just your typical basketball-loving shooting guard; he has a unique style of play, considering he only has one hand. The 6-foot-3 sharpshooter from Georgia is missing part of his arm due to a birth defect, but that doesn't stop him from shooting the lights out. Take a look:
According to the News-Herald of Northern Ohio, Hodskins forgets his arm isn't there when he's playing:
"When I'm out [on the court], I forget my arm isn't there and just play ball. Passion and love for the sport helps me overcome all obstacles. To this day I haven't come across anything I can't do."
As if that wasn't inspiring enough - the University of Florida has recently offered Hodskins a walk-on position for the 2014-2015 basketball season.
He's also received scholarship offers from schools like Alabama-Birmingham and Birmingham Southern.
Go you, Zach.
