Earlier this week, it was announced that Florida quarterback Jeff Driskel would be transferring to Louisiana Tech to play out his final year of collegiate eligibility. Driskel will be teaming up with head coach Skip Holtz, who has also had stops at East Carolina and South Florida in the last decade, to attempt to improve upon a successful nine-win 2014 campaign. Monday, Holtz's son Trey, a backup quarterback for the Texas Longhorns, had an interesting comment on Twitter about the situation.
Holtz, clearly excited for the duo, implied that Louisiana Tech will cater the offense to Driskel's strengths. He tweeted that it's "amazing" what quarterbacks can do in that kind of situation.
This probably isn't meant to be a slap in the face to former UF coach Will Muschamp and his staff, but it does show you that many - even those in the industry - didn't think Driskel was being used correctly with the Gators. Florida fans - is that a valid statement?
