In just over the week the 2019 college football season kicks off with an in-state battle between the Florida Gators and Miami Hurricanes.

The Week 0 game is a major non-conference contest that pits the ACC against the SEC. Before the two teams take the field, a former Florida star had a message for the Gators.

Former Florida quarterback Tim Tebow joined the Paul Finebaum Show this week to preview the game.

During his time on the show, Tebow called it the biggest season-opener Florida has played in over 10 years.

Here's what Tebow had to say:

"This is huge. This is an opportunity where they've gotten so much hype but now you have to live up to it. Last year doesn't matter anymore. What you did this summer, the hype, being top-10 it doesn't matter. You have to show up on the field and you have to earn it this year."

Tebow thinks the Gators need to find that chip on their shoulder heading into their game against Miami next weekend.

After a strong finish to the 2018 campaign, Dan Mullen and company have high expectations for this year's team.

Florida and Miami get the party started next weekend on Saturday night. The Gators and Hurricanes kick off at 7:00 p.m. ET on ESPN.
