Thursday morning, the college football world learned, via ESPN, that Colorado State head coach Jim McElwain would be leaving the Rams to take the much-sought-after job with the Florida Gators. According to Colorado State tight end Brett Jordan, the team heard the news at the same time as the rest of us. He's clearly not happy about it. He wishes McElwain had found a way to tell his players before they could hear it on the news.
There's never a good way to leave a program behind, and given how fast news travels these days, it can be difficult to do everything in the right order. Still, you have to feel for the players.
