The first half of action between Florid and Georgia has been filled with injuries. During the second quarter, Kyle Pitts took a brutal shot to the head from Lewis Cine, who was quickly ejected from the game.
Kyle Trask delivered a nice ball over the middle of the field to Pitts, but unfortunately that play was overshadowed by Cine’s controversial hit. No one can definitively say it was a dirty hit from Cine. However, there was simply no need for him to put the hammer down on a defenseless receiver.
Pitts was off to a great start this afternoon, hauling in two passes for 59 yards and a touchdown in the first half. It’s unclear if he’ll return though due to the hit he took from Cine.
That would be a huge blow to Florida’s offense, as most of their passing attack operates through Pitts.
Here’s the terrifying hit that Pitts took from Cine:

Obviously the main concern here is Pitts’ health, as you never want to see a player take a nasty shot like that.
The Gators have a commanding 38-21 lead heading into halftime. It’ll be on Trask to carry the offense in the second half if Pitts is unable to return.
