What Seed Did Florida Get In The 2014 NCAA Tournament?

Seed: For the upcoming 2014 NCAA Tournament, the Florida Gators were given a 1-seed in the South-region. They are coached by Billy Donovan and hail from the SEC.

You can view the entire 2014 NCAA Tournament field here in our official bracket.

Where: They will open play against the winner of Albany and Mount St. Mary's in Orlando, Florida on Thursday.

Why: Florida finished the regular season with a perfect 18-0 record in the SEC, finishing a full six games ahead of second place Kentucky and Georgia. UF also won the SEC Tournament. The Gators earned big wins against Memphis and Kansas, and swept Kentucky in the home-and-home series with the Wildcats before knocking them off in the SEC title game as well.

Ceiling: Florida has been playing the best basketball in the country for a few months. Casey Prather and Michael Frazier II provide serious firepower on offense, while Scottie Wilbekin is one of the best point guards in the country. Add the freak athleticism of Patric Young, and strong depth on the bench, and this is absolutely a National Championship caliber team.
