National Signing Day kicked off earlier this morning, and while it’s not over just yet, the No. 1 class has already been solidified.
According to 247Sports, Georgia locked up the No. 1 class in the 2020 recruiting cycle. It’s the second time in the past three years Kirby Smart and company have locked down the No. 1 class.
Texas A&m helped the Bulldogs land the No. 1 class, but gaining a commitment from four-star defensive tackle McKinnley Jackson. Alabama was in on Jackson, but his commitment to the Aggies ended any hope Nick Saban had of landing the top class.
Georgia landed a huge commitment from five-star offensive lineman Broderick Jones to solidify the top spot. Another commitment from four-star offensive lineman and the No. 1 center recruit, Sedrick Van Pran, in the 2020 class didn’t hurt either.

Smart and the Bulldogs continue to build the trenches, even after losing offensive line coach Sam Pittman to Arkansas.
Georgia already has a hot start on the 2021 recruiting class as well. Brock Vandagriff, the No. 1 quarterback in the class, decommitted from Oklahoma before announcing his commitment to the Bulldogs earlier this year.
As it stands now, Alabama and Clemson hold the No. 2 and No. 3 classes in the 2020 cycle.
Stay tuned for the latest.
