Arik Gilbert is the nation's top TE in the 2020 recruiting class. The top schools in the country are vying to earn his commitment.
On Tuesday morning, Gilbert announced his final five schools he's considering in his recruitment. The teams included are ones you'd expect.
The 6-foot-5, 253-pound prospect's final five schools include: Alabama, LSU, Georgia, Clemson and Texas A&M. Gilbert is making his commitment decision tomorrow, live at the All-American Jersey presentation on Oct. 23.
Here's Gilbert's official announcement, via Twitter.
Gilbert's combination of power, strength and athleticism makes him one of the more dynamic athletes in the nation. He's already projecting as a future first-round NFL Draft pick.
The 5-star prospect is the 10th best overall prospect and top-ranked TE in the nation, per 247Sports' Composite Rankings. It'll be interesting to see which school Gilbert decides to attend.
Georgia is the expected landing spot for the talented TE. Gilbert, out of Marietta (GA.), might be looking to stay close to home, and becoming a Bulldog would allow him to do just that. But Alabama has been gaining traction.
As a junior, Gilbert caught 88 passes for 1,210 yards and 14 touchdowns. Some even consider the TE prospect to be the best overall player in the country.
We'll find out on Wednesday where Gilbert will be playing his collegiate ball.
