Another weekend of college football is in the books and there were a few games with College Football Playoff implications on the line.
Alabama fell to Auburn by a final score of 48-45, ending the Crimson Tide’s hopes of a playoff berth. Elsewhere in the SEC, though, LSU and Georgia both took care of business.
The Tigers and Bulldogs will square off in the SEC title game, where the winner is a lock for the playoff. Although Alabama is out of the race, there remains a possibility that two SEC teams make the playoff.
If Georgia takes down LSU next weekend, both the Bulldogs and Tigers have a strong case to make the playoff.
So, who’s going to win?
ESPN’s Football Power Index likes the Tigers to emerge victorious.
According to the FPI, LSU has a 55.7-percent chance to take down Georgia next weekend. That gives the Bulldogs a 44.3-percent chance to pull the upset.
LSU enters the game as a 5.5-point favorite, though that line could change during the week. Georgia features the more formidable defense, but the Tigers boast one of the most lethal offenses in the country.
LSU averages 48.7 points per game, while Georgia gives up just 10.4 points per game.
The Tigers and Bulldogs face off on Saturday at 4:00 p.m. ET on CBS.
