Georgia's Tramel Terry, Former 4-Star Recruit And South Carolina Mr. Football, Interested In Gamecocks

Tramel Terry, a former four-star recruit and Mr. Football in South Carolina, is interested in returning to his home state. Terry was recruited to play on offense by Georgia, but was quickly moved to safety due to the depth in the Bulldog backfield. He is currently taking classes at UGA, and will transfer after the semester. The State caught up with Terry, and spoke about the Gamecocks as a possibility.

“South Carolina stands out,” he said. “It’s home. I pretty much know everybody on the team. It wouldn’t be like I was going somewhere random.”

Terry said he has talked with Steve Spurrier Jr. and has been told that a new coach should be in place by early December. He is planning to take an official visit with his family then.

“I’ve been to South Carolina like 30 million times coming out of high school,” he said. “I would take an official so my family could go up there and get to know the coaching staff.”

Terry visited Jacksonville State over the weekend, and is also drawing interest from Duke, according to The State.

Terry was rated as the No. 1 player in South Carolina in the 2013 recruiting class. He recorded 10 tackles and an interception as a redshirt freshman safety for Georgia last season.
