Georgia DL Jonathan Ledbetter Reportedly Asleep At The Wheel During DUI Arrest

Sunday morning, it was reported that Georgia defensive lineman Jonathan Ledbetter had been arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence and underage possession of alcohol. The details from the alleged incident, which have now been reported by the Athens Banner-Herald, are troubling.

Ledbetter was reportedly found asleep in his car sitting at a traffic light. Police were unable to get Ledbetter's attention for 20 minutes - and they reportedly eventually used a "lock jock" to open the door. Here's more:

Athens-Clarke County police responded to the scene at Barnett Shoals and Lexington Roads around 5:30 a.m in the latest incident. Police parked a car in front of Ledbetter’s “so that the white (Dodge Avenger) vehicle wouldn’t roll into oncoming traffic.” Police said Ledbetter appeared to be asleep but was “breathing and drooling.”

...After 20 minutes of being unable to get Ledbetter to respond, police eventually were able to open the door with a “lock jock.” Police after several more attempts woke up Ledbetter, who said he had not been sleeping.

Georgia has not announced what punishment, if any, Ledbetter will face. This is Ledbetter's second alcohol-related arrest.
