Georgia added an important commitment to its 2020 class earlier today with the addition of well-regarded kicker Jared Zirkel of Kerrville (Tex.) Tivy High School.

Zirkel earned an offer after performing well in camp at Georgia earlier this month. He won the kickoff competition over 150-plus other entrants.

Zirkel chose the Bulldogs over offers from Air Force and Army. He is a five-star prospect and the No. 11 kicker in the country according to Kohl's Kicking.

"I'd like to thank the University of Georgia Football staff, especially Coach Scott Fountain, Coach Greg Meyer, and Head Coach Kirby Smart for providing me with the opportunity to be a part of the UGA football team," Zirkel tweeted. "I am excited to announce my commitment to the University of Georgia to continue my education and football career. Go Dawgs!"

Kicking World, the kicking service that Zirkel trains with, describes him as having "freakish leg strength." He hit a 59-yard field goal in a high school game last season.

Zirkel also kicked a 70-yard field goal during a training session.

Georgia's current recruiting class now has 13 commitments with Zirkel in the fold. The Bulldogs have the No. 4 class in the country, per 247Sports' Composite Team Rankings.
