Atlanta native Jaquez Smith is one of the nation's top junior wide receivers. 247Sports ranks him No. 123 overall in the 2021 class.
The recruiting site has him at No. 24 among receivers, and No. 31 in the state of Georgia for the cycle.
He has a long time before he has to have a decision about his recruitment in, he's moving forward with five power programs. Four come from the SEC, which may not be the biggest surprise.
Alabama, Auburn, Florida, and Georgia all make the list. They're joined by Notre Dame.
Jaquez Smith announced the list via Twitter earlier today:
We'll see two of these finalists squaring off in a rare game this weekend. Georgia hosts Notre Dame, in what is one of the most highly-anticipated non-conference games of the season. The two sides were also considered early leaders in Smith's recruitment.
It is also one of the most expensive, with the average price on many secondary market sites exceeding $600.
The Bulldogs are considered the favorite to land Smith by a pair of recruiting analysts that have logged predictions for his eventual decision. No other predictions have been made for the Atlanta native at the moment.
Notre Dame already has five players committed in the 2021 class, and is ranked No. 4 in the country for that recruiting cycle early on. Auburn, with three players, comes in at No. 6. The Tigers are followed by Alabama (No. 14), Georgia (No. 19), and LSU (No. 25).
