With the Georgia Bulldogs’ season on the line this weekend against the LSU Tigers, star running back D’Andre Swift is going to play through an injury. He suffered a shoulder contusion against Georgia Tech last Saturday.
The Bulldogs weren’t really sure if Swift would suit up for the SEC Championship until a few days ago. Head coach Kirby Smart revealed that he expects him to play.
Swift is less than a week removed from his injury, but Smart believes he’ll receive a great performance from the All-SEC running back.
“I’m excited to see him go play,” Smart said on Friday. “I have an expectation to see him play well.”

Swift has 1,203 rushing yards and eight total touchdowns this season. He’s shown that he can be effective on the ground and through the air.
Not only do the Bulldogs have to get Swift going early and often, junior quarterback Jake Fromm has to take care of the football.
Georgia needs to defeat LSU on Saturday to keep its hopes of making the College Football Playoff alive. In order to pull off the upset, the offense will have to stay within striking distance of the Joe Burrow and the Tigers.
Kickoff for this game is at 4 p.m. ET from Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
