College football’s Week 10 didn’t disappoint in regards to closely contested battles. Several teams put together some impressive performances for big time wins.
Kirk Herbstreit has unveiled his top five teams of the week, and there’s a surprising team sitting in the top spot.
Utah checks in at No. 1 on Herbstreit’s list. The Utes clawed their way back to earn a pivotal 33-28 win over Washington in Seattle.
Here’s Herbstreit’s full list of top teams from Week 10:
- Utah Utes
- Georgia Bulldogs
- Oregon Ducks
- Indiana Hoosiers
- Purdue Boilermakers
Utah earned its first win over Washington since 2015. The Huskies have been a thorn in the Utes’ side for some time now, but Kyle Whittingham’s squad exercised some demons on Saturday. Now, there’s a clear path for Utah to win the Pac-12 South.
Georgia is second on Herbstreit’s list. The Bulldogs had the biggest win of the weekend, beating Florida in a pivotal SEC East Division contest. Now, they find themselves sixth in the AP Top 25.
The Oregon Ducks come in at No. 3. The Ducks went down 10-0 to USC before going on a 56-14 run en route to a 56-24 victory. Oregon, like Utah, has a clear path to the Pac-12 championship.

Indiana has shocked everyone this season, moving to 7-2 (4-2 in Big Ten play) after a 34-3 win against Northwestern. The Hoosiers face a big test against No. 5 Penn State on Nov. 16.
At No. 5, Purdue scored the eventual game-winning touchdown with just over a minute remaining in the fourth quarter against Nebraska on Saturday. The Boilermakers put a major damper on Nebraska’s bowl game hopes while moving to 3-6 in the process.
